At this year’s American Physical Therapy Association Combined Sections Meeting (CSM) in New Orleans, Convaid |R82 will present the Convaid Flyer – a tilt-in-space wheelchair that grows in length, width and depth that launched in January 2018.
From February 21-24, 2018 the Convaid | R82 pediatric team will work from Booth 1830 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, represented by Western Region and Canada Sales Manager Charles Larose, Education Manager Sally Mallory and Territory Manager Chris Reidmiller. Attending on behalf of Etac’s adult division is Derek Fletcher, in Booth 1832, who will display Etac’s product line of lifts, hoists and slings.
R82 products to be featured at APTA CSM include the R82 Mustang, an anterior/posterior gait trainer; the R82 x:Panda, a multi-adjustable dynamic seat that offers seat width and depth adjustment and sliding back growth; the R82 Caribou, a standing frame supports prone or supine standing positions that easily toggles between horizontal and vertical positions; alongside R82 Wallaroo, a forward-facing child restraint.
“It is exciting that both our pediatric and adult sales teams can reach out to physical and occupational therapists at this valuable event. It is important that physical therapists learn about the all-day and whole-life solutions provided by the umbrella of Etac brands. It is also a great educational opportunity to be able to participate in seminars and engage with specialty physical therapists to grow our network of service providers and experts,” said Ryan B. Williams, President, Etac NA.
About the Convaid Flyer
For therapists working in Early Intervention with three to five-year olds transitioning into the school system, the dilemma arrives with parents often preferring a lightweight stroller base versus the standard heavier wheelchair. Another scenario occurs when the older child or young adult lacks endurance, strength to ambulate throughout the day or self-propel, but does ambulate in classroom brief periods. Bridging this gap is the Convaid Flyer is a lightweight, modular and portable wheelchair developed with youth-orientated aesthetics and growth in mind.
The Convaid Flyer is a width-expandable pediatric wheelchair that has a uniquely designed tilt-in-space base and accepts more complex adaptive seating, comes with optional recline and a large selection of options and accessories to achieve ideal positioning and support. The modular design allows for easy removal of the seating module from the mobility base for simple lifting and more compact transport.
