Education experts Lynda Reagan, PT, and Julie Kobak, MA, CCC-SLP will present the third in a series of four free Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credit webinars on, The Use of Complex Rehab Equipment in the School Setting.

Attendees have the option of attending the course to earn Free CEU credits or to participate without earning credit. If you are interested in attending but cannot make the live webinar, we will email you the link to the recording. Recorded webinars are not offered for CEU’s.

In part three of the four-part series, the process of selecting and obtaining complex rehabilitation equipment will continue to be presented with specific emphasis on equipment to facilitate standing and walking in the school setting. The importance of a team approach during equipment trials and the selection process is critical and should include input from the child and family, the educational team, as well as assistive technology professionals and equipment manufacturers. Case reports with pictures and videos will be weaved throughout the presentation as speakers discuss decision-making approaches and specific considerations for choosing features, benefits, and options of a variety of standing and walking devices.   Strategies will be provided for integrating the equipment into daily routines and classroom activities as well as measuring progress.  Examples of daily schedules will be provided.  Attendees will be encouraged to actively participate in this webinar through various polling activities.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Identify at least four steps of the process of obtaining CRT equipment that supports IEP goals.
  2. List at least three members of the equipment selection team, including their roles and contributions to the collaborative process.
  3. Explain at least three considerations for the selection of standers and walkers/gait trainers.
  4. Develop at least two ways to integrate equipment into daily educational routines.
