Etac NA Director of Marketing, Nanneke Dinklo, today announced the launch of the Pediatric Group’s series of live education events that will offer physical therapists and other health care providers an opportunity to earn up to .3 Continuing Education (CE) credits per event, at company-sponsored seminars to be held throughout the country.
The first CE event on this tour was held in Chicago on May 24th where attendees earned .2 CE units for their participation. Upcoming events where up to .3 CE units can be earned will be held as follows: Hartford, Conn., June 15; New Jersey, on June 16; Pittsburgh, Penn., on June 23 and in Philadelphia, Penn., Florida and California.

The Use of Equipment to Improve Outcomes for the Client Orthopedically | Presentation focuses on preserving best skeletal alignment during developmental years and after growth is complete through seating options.
Clinical and Technical Application of Tilt and Recline | Presentation addresses the fact that wheelchair and seating options have evolved over the past 25 years, providing numerous equipment choices which can be daunting. In this course, differences in tilt-in-space and recline systems will be addressed.
The Place for Dependent Pediatric Wheelchairs in Early Intervention | The course will address Federal/State Early Intervention programs that will be defined, populations discussed and the five domains of development explored with a focus on EI seating and mobility goals.
The Hartford event on June 15, 2016, will be held from 8AM to 12PM at the New England Assistive Technology/Neat Center, located at 33 Coventry Street, Hartford, CT 06112. Presenting the program is Karen “Missy” Ball, MT, PT, ATP, who is the former Acting Director and Assistant Director of the Physical Therapy Department at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans. She was the co-director of the seating program at the hospital for a 10-year period as well as a consultant for the United Cerebral Palsy Center’s seating clinic. She served as educational specialist for Freedom Designs for 21 years and presently is an educational consultant for Convaid Products, LLC. She has lectured both nationally and internationally on seating and mobility for over 20 years. She has a private practice specializing in pediatric neurology. She is an ATP and is certified in pediatric NDT with a focus on improving function through treatment and equipment.
