Comfortable and stable paediatric seating that gives the greatest possible support. Assistive devices for seating that embrace, enhance and encourage participation in daily life activities.

Seating principles

Paediatric seating products that can be configured and adjusted to provide the child with the support needed for active participation, while assisting the child to develop new functional abilities.

Support in the seated position

Our product solutions aim to support children in maintaining the seated position, by providing and offering support of the entire body. The type and amount of support needed will often be temporary, based on the activity in which the child is engaged and the current body function. This means that there might not be the same support for eating breakfast in the morning as for eating dinner in the evening. For some children, the best solution might be one product combined with different types of accessories during the day, while others will need two or more products, in order to receive the right support for all activities.

The target users of our solutions range from children with severe impairment of most functions to children with mild impairment of a single or a few functions. This means that for some children the goal might be to help them to maintain or change their head's position, allowing the child to communicate, eat or turn their head to see who is entering the room.

For others, the goal could be to help the child to focus on other tasks besides maintaining an upright sitting position, for example learning or playing with peers. Another goal could be to minimise the risk of developing secondary consequences of the original health condition, such as development of contractures and scoliosis.

Seating category

The seating category includes product solutions where the seat and frame are configured separately, and solutions where the seat and frame are configured together (wheelchairs, working chairs and floor seats and buggies).
